When in Rome....er...I mean, Texas...
You have to try the wine. We have a local winery and every single wine I have tasted from there, is A-OK.
I gave a bottle of "Rosie the Riveter" to my sister in law, who actually likes wine and is a bit picky, and she loved it.
I am no wine connoisseur....um...expert..but I have to say, I haven't met one of these wines that I don't like. I can even talk the Senior Chief into helping me kill a bottle when the occasion calls for it. (And yes, I did have to look that up.)
The one I am drinking on this fine evening is called "X's" "She's a dead shot with a six shooter and as cold as the Frio River. Born here, raised here, she's 100% pure Texan right down to her bone,,, pistol grips. Sure she's sweet, but make no mistake this strawberry redhead has a hair trigger. Don't mess with X's!"
I do like a wine with attitude! Right up my alley. It is all applicable to my personality except for the born and raised part. I may not have been born and raised here, but I got here as fast as I could.
And boy howdy, she sure went with the barbecue pork chops I made for dinner tonight.
Made another mini road trip this morning. I had to meet the van that was my fledgling daughter's ride to Tulsa for another church camp. She has wanted to go to Tulsa for a while now, ever since she read some books.
It's just me and the youngest boy kid this week. Gotta find something for us to do that is fun so he stays out of trouble.
Welcome to my world of chaos and laughter where we try to keep things in perspective.

Happy Saturday
I woke up at 6 am this morning right before I had a nightmare. I didn't have one, but I could feel it coming and when my bladder said wake up, I went ahead and stayed up.
I wasn't in the mood for another nightmare.
They have been happening with great frequency lately. I blame it on the books. I've been reading the Game of Thrones series and let me tell ya, that is not a happy story at all. I can't stop reading though.
The author is masterful in making you like these characters. Every single one of them is evil in their own ways. And many of them are good in their own ways. I wish I could write so well.
I made my mini-road trip yesterday. Now I have to figure out what to cook for supper.
The Senior Chief and I have a social engagement tonight. Yes, another one. I don't really want to attend, but he wants to, and he usually gets his way. I am going to miss the truck race as a result.
I mentioned to him yesterday that I didn't really want to go and boy, howdy, he got all pissy in a hurry. He said, "I know you don't want to go, you don't want to socialize with those people."
Whoa. I don't want to socialize with anybody. I thought he knew this about me.
Then he adds that that's why I haven't been to church for 5 weeks.
Whoa.
I informed him that it had only been two weeks and he just needed to hush up now.
Being the wise man that he is, he did.
Well, it's time to do dishes and some chores around here. Y'all have a great weekend.

Mini Road Trip
It is time once again to hit the local? bulk store for some groceries.
This is one of those ways in which I have been spoiled. It was a chore I always rather hated and now that I have to take a mini-road trip, I like it even less.
However, I may have to console myself with some take out chinese food for supper tonight, since there isn't a chinese food restaurant anywhere near, either.
Isn't it a bit ironic that these trips occur once a month with regularity?
In other news, The Senior Chief and the kids have been in the local newspaper several times over the last few months.
It used to be a rule....DO NOT, under any circumstances get yourself on the news or in the newspaper.
Well, that just goes to show that rules are for breaking. Once was for the Memorial Day service, once was for charitable donations through church, and the last was because The Senior Chief and the Girl Kid were in the Fourth of July parade through town.
It's really getting hard to be bad with all this good stuff going on.
I haven't gotten decently drunk in months. Well, maybe once. There was a margarita night in there somewhere.
Oh screw it. I'm not going to the store. I'm going to drink beers instead.
